Bat Roost Counters sit near the locations of our bat houses beside the Barn at Hunt Hill at dusk. They count the bats as they emerge, providing use with data about how many bats are using the bat houses at different times throughout the summer. Bat Roost Counters do not come in contact with bats. 1 hour per count. You chose the frequency. The more frequent the counts, the better data we have. We aim for a minimum of two counts per summer on the pre-volancy and post-volancy count weekends, but we would like more if possible. No prior experience necessary. We can provide the training to get you started. Priority on the prevolancy weekend (June 5-7) and the post-volancy weekend (July 10-12)

Although we’d like to spend more time walking on the trails, sometimes we’re stuck in the office doing paperwork. We’re looking for volunteers who would adopt our trails and try to walk them once a month or so, carrying along loppers for those unruly prickly shrubs, and letting us know if there are fallen trees that need removal. We have several trails of various lengths waiting for you to adopt!
